A fascinating and entertaining insight
The Last Dance is a hardworking and increasingly successful gothic/dark alternative band from Orange County, California. In their DVD documentary "Almost Beautiful" we witness firsthand the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into this band. Most people are aware that major musical acts have an entourage to help with the logistics of touring, but what about the smaller acts? Almost Beautiful allows us to see the band undertaking EVERYTHING, from loading up their van (which is an art form in itself), planning the itinerary, driving from gig to gig, setting up their own equipment and basically handling every detail that goes into planning and executing a successful tour. Music takes not just talent, but hard work. The Last Dance proves time and time again they have a work ethic we should all strive toward.
Talent? The band has it in spades. We get to enjoy their special style of gothic rock in numerous performance clips and witness the band during a most interesting recording...
It's almost beautiful !!!
I totaly liked this Rockumentary. I discovered this U.S. Gothic Rock/Darkwave band back in 1996 just by curiosity buying their album "Fairytales". A Great album that totally had the spirit of origional Gothic !!! Many great and never dissapointing albums followed and I even had the chance to see them perform twice and meeting them in Person. They really know how to bring it live !!!It was only recent that I bought this DVD (about 3 years after release) as I first had the feeling that it was yet another Rockumentary in a row.
But I'm very glad I did it because as soon as I watched it it took me back to all the great Last dance's Years !
This DVD was the most entertaining in it's kind that I've seen. It is so insightful the way it shows how members of a goth band are actually regular normal people who enjoy what they do. The movie has also lot of emotions like happiness and sadeness (the loss of their great Drummer Ivan) but is also very entertaining, sometimes funny ... A...
Excellent Documentary
I love The Last Dance. It was great to see a little more in to what they do, and what they go through during a tour. I highly recommend it to any fan.
